Madera
OUR STORY

Made by collectors, for the wall and the shelf

Some boards get ridden into splinters. Some go straight to the wall. A few spend thirty years in a garage rafter, waiting for someone who remembers the ad in the back of the magazine.

Madera is for those boards, and for the people who still remember.

A curated marketplace for skateboarding and action sports culture. Shop collectible boards, explore the riders and brands behind them, and discover stories from skateboarding and action sports culture.

Madera was founded by Ed Moncada, a lifelong skateboard collector.

What we do

  • We check every listing. Every listing is approved by our in-house appraiser before it goes live. Artifacts, our rarest boards, come through our Long Beach warehouse, where we check them against the listing, photograph them and pack them ourselves. Premium boards ship from the seller. Open boards under $500 are also available to buy.
  • We document what we see. Catalogue number, brand, rider, year, graphic, and a plain-English condition grade, with photos of the full silhouette, the graphic, the full top, and close-ups of the nose, middle and tail.
  • We keep the record. Explore documented decks, brands and riders in The Archive, with reference pages for the boards and culture behind them.

What we don't do

We don't hype. We won't call a board rare unless we can say why, and we won't guess at a year we can't back up. If we don't know something about a board, we say so.

The Archive

The Archive is our running record of the decks, riders and companies that shaped skateboarding. Browse reference pages by brand, rider and decade. Visit The Archive →

Madera Collective is our own house collection on the marketplace. Every Madera Collective board is owned and held by Madera. The Sold by Madera badge is only for that inventory.
