Frequently asked questions
The basics
What is Madera?
A curated marketplace for skateboarding and action sports culture. Selling is invite-only at launch, and every listing is approved by Madera's in-house appraiser before it goes live. Artifacts, our rarest boards, come through our Long Beach warehouse. Premium ships from the seller to you.
Are the boards authentic?
Our in-house appraiser reviews every listing's photos before it goes live, and we note reissues, re-screens and repairs when we can spot them. Artifacts are also examined by hand at our warehouse. We don't issue certificates of authenticity. If a board turns out not to be as described, Madera Buyer Protection covers you if you open a claim within 3 days of delivery.
What does “Sold by Madera” mean?
The board comes from Madera Collective, our own house collection. Madera owns it, and the Sold by Madera badge appears only on that inventory. Shipping follows the tier: Premium ships from the seller, and Artifacts ship from Madera in Long Beach.
What do the condition tiers mean?
See the Condition guide. In short: M/NM is unridden; EX/VG has light use; G/F has been ridden; P is rough but sometimes the only one around.
What's the difference between an original and a reissue?
Many classic graphics were reprinted years later. Originals and reissues are different objects with different values, and we label them. At launch Madera lists originals only, so there's no reissue filter.

Sales are final unless the board isn't as described. If it isn't, email support@madera.co within 3 days of delivery. A Premium return goes back to the seller. An Artifact return goes back through Madera in Long Beach.
Can I make an offer?
On listings that accept offers, yes. The seller answers within 24 hours. After they accept, you have 24 hours to pay. Look for "Make an offer".
Selling
How do I sell a board?
Selling is by invite at launch. Invited sellers list Premium boards ($500 to $8,000), our appraiser approves every listing, and you ship straight to the buyer. Sell to ask for an invite.
What does it cost to sell?
Listing Premium boards is free. Premium seller fees are agreed when a seller is invited and shown in the seller agreement before their first listing. Artifacts carry a 2% commission plus a $150 listing fee.
When do sellers get paid?
By ACH to your bank after the buyer's 3-day claim window closes. You can see every payout under Account, Payouts.
Do you buy whole collections?
Yes. Email support@madera.co with a list and a few photos, and we'll plan a consignment for the whole collection.
